Training Option 2: Continuing Education Courses
Overview | Training Option 1 | Training Option 3
UNC CPHP develops courses in partnership with public health agencies to meet targeted training needs. These courses are designed for public health professionals holding specific job roles (e.g., communicable disease nurse, preparedness coordinator) or for persons assigned specific tasks (e.g., entering data into an electronic disease surveillance system, developing pandemic influenza plans, or training colleagues in basic field epidemiology).
Features of these courses include:
- Delivery: completely online or hybrid Internet/classroom training
- Audience: public health professionals in North Carolina, including preparedness coordinators and communicable disease nurses; public health professionals with little epidemiology training in Central America
- Content: designed to enhance the public health capacity and response of public health agencies
- Represents the mid level of
the UNC CPHP distance learning strategy:
- Application-level material
- Moderate time commitment (must register for entire course, but course schedule allows flexibility)
- Combines multiple re-useable learning objects and assignments in each module
